We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in thermal and vibration management, electro‑optical sub-assembly packaging, designing for cost and designing for manufacture.

Core Duties:

  • Perform development activities, at the level of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, in support of MEMS-based optical circuit switch
  • Architect mechanical solutions for next-generation electro-optical hardware
  • Ownership of full product lifecycle from definition, design, prototype and characterization through production rollout and iterative improvement
  • Create and manage test plans to validate and quantify product performance and tooling

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • BSME or higher, or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience designing electronic or optical packaging (from circuit board to subassembly to system) for medium-volume product lines
  • Working knowledge of mechanical aspects of electronic design such as PCBA manufacture, ruggedized assemblies and effective mounting/grounding methods
  • Working knowledge of mechanical fabrication methods including machining, sheet metal, low‑pressure injection molding, 3D printing, structural epoxies and potting
  • Working knowledge of document control from drawing to ECO
  • Solid grasp of drafting standards, such as GD&T, and tolerance analysis
  • Experience with electronic interconnects and cabling
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Ability to think critically in complex situations, provide out-of-the-box solutions, and work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective project management
