The OFC/NFOEC show has been an important venue for us to get out the word about our advanced 3D MEMS photonic switches. Last year, we launched the S320 photonic switch at OFC.
At this year’s show, we’re providing a peak at how that switch will change data center networks.
In a demo with partner Plexxi, show attendees will see how traffic flows can be moved dynamically from the packet-based network to the ultra-high capacity S320 optical-circuit-switched network in response to both scheduled and real-time events.
It’s the first time we’ve been able to show how the S320 can work with a software-defined networking (SDN) controller. This SDN technology is taking the industry by storm because of the flexibility it adds to managing complex networks.
When that management flexibility is combined with the connectivity flexibility and extreme capacity delivered by the S320, the result is a hybrid packet-circuit network that can dramatically boost throughput.
If you will be in Anaheim, CA, for the show, stop by and see the demo at booth 1225. If you can’t make it, then check out our hybrid packet-circuit network whitepaper.
