Press ReleasesPlease contact: Ron Mackey Joins Calient Networks as Chief Marketing Officer San Jose, Calif., April 16, 2004 – Calient Networks, the leading provider of carrier-class photonic switching systems, announced today the appointment of Ron Mackey as Calient’s new Chief Marketing Officer. “Ron has joined Calient Networks’ executive team to power up our marketing and business development efforts, and to expand strategic relationships within the telecommunications industry,” emphasized Calient CEO and President Charles Corbalis. “We’re delighted to have his depth of expertise and first-hand carrier knowledge across the optical transport and switching market segments, and value his pragmatic vision of evolving carrier demand and growth. Ron will be a key leader in driving Calient’s future success.” Prior to joining Calient Networks, Ron headed product planning and strategy for Tellabs’ North American product line and held various marketing, planning and product management positions within Tellabs' advanced optical groups. He was previously Chief Technology Officer for Osicom Technologies, now Sorrento Networks, as well as founder and President of Distributed Systems International, Inc. (DSI), an optical networking technology company acquired by Osicom Technologies in 1996.
