Santa Barbara, CA, October 28, 2014 — CALIENT Technologies, Inc., the global leader for optical switching technology, today announced that Erik Leonard has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Leonard will report to CALIENT Chairman and CEO Atiq Raza.
Previously, Leonard served as the company’s Vice President of Sales for Service Provider and Digital Entertainment markets. Prior to that, he served as senior director of strategic sales and marketing at Lineage Power (acquired by GE).
Leonard has nearly 20 years of sales management experience at companies including On2 Technologies (acquired by Google), Narus (acquired by Boeing Skunkworks), Maple Optical Systems, Cisco Systems, GTE Internetworking and AT&T Data Networks.
“In the six months that Erik has been with the company, he has taken our sales team to the next level and has already opened the doors to several large key global accounts. His international experience, sales leadership skills and start-up expertise will help CALIENT accelerate our next phase of growth,” Raza said. “We have substantial sales goals for 2015 and Erik will be instrumental in leading the team to not only meeting, but exceeding, those goals.”
